Where Do You Start With A Blog?
At the beginning I guess ...

So welcome to my brand new blog, and when Steffi asked me to write my first post, I wondered what to include. I suppose the best place to start would be at the beginning ...
I've worked for two major public accountancy practices and one multi-national company before I decided that the time was right to start my own practice.
"The original reason for setting up in business was to be better than the other accountants in the area!"
This was way back in 1998! Gosh, how time flies hey? Having very few clients and very little income was only a problem for a short while. I've got a very holistic approach to customer service and thankfully for me, it proved to be a winning formula.
As my client list grew, staffing became a priority, but not just anyone would do. My core values meant that I wanted to create a really dynamic and inspiring workplace, and that meant that I needed dynamic and inspiring people on my team!
I'm fortunate that my client list and my team grew and grew which means a move to the current offices we have in Cranfield. Central to Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford we moved here in 2003 and loved it so much we stayed.
So what does Jonathan Vowles Chartered Accountants do? Well, the name gives it away a little, but to summarise:
''JVCA offers a variety of accountancy and consultancy services to a wide range of businesses; we work with everyone from owner managed and family-run firms to subsidiaries of larger companies, and we have an excellent reputation for working with high net-worth individuals.''
In a nutshell, JVCA are tax specialists and experts in saving you money, because for every pound I can save you in tax is more money for you to spend in your business or on your family!
Call me on 01234 752 566 and let's set up an informal meeting and have a chat over a coffee. Let's see how we can work together to help you drive your business forward!
Until next time ...
More about Jonathan Vowles ...
I've been an accountant in and for business since 1987 and have a wide experience of consultancy, audit, accounts, taxation and wealth planning work from individuals and small businesses to multinational corporations and charities.
My eclectic interests in growing and developing business span a number of areas, which can be summarised as strategic business advice and tax saving advice.
I have worked with the Chamber of Commerce to deliver courses for people about starting up in business and have lectured about tax for a major accountancy practice and for Milton Keynes College.
I relax by reading fiction and by getting away from the office in a campervan.
